Church Administration

Introduction to church administration and management of non- profit organizations. It is designed to inform and educate students regarding management principles, procedures, techniques, theory, and practice for leading and managing churches and non-profit organizations. The course applies a problem-solving approach to the subjects of management, administration, supervision, organization, leadership, church government, finance, and legal issues relevant to ministers and lay leaders.

Rev. Jewel Evans
Rev. Jewel Evans currently serves as the Church Administrator at Redemptive Life Christian Fellowship, where she has thrived in her role for the past 12 years. She is a seasoned Business Administrator with over 35 years of experience in business operations, with experience in for-profit and non-profit entities. Rev. Jewel has encountered success in structuring small to mid-sized businesses, engaging in initial office set up protocols, writing policies/procedures, and establishing office systems software’s (communications and bookkeeping software).
In present day, Rev. Jewel is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Redemptive Life Christian Fellowship Church Office. She operates as a full-charge bookkeeper, which requires her services in managing payroll, budget preparation, financial reporting, as well as the implementing and monitoring of directives from the Deacon Board and Senior Pastor. She also provides administrative support to the Sr. Pastor Mark W. Thompson, church leadership committees, and assists with the coordination of church events and social activities.
Rev. Jewel Evans is a 2011 graduate of MIT, generating her 13 years of experience as an ordained minister and a member of the Deacon Board. She is currently a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Georgia, where she actively specialized in commercial real estate and property management for over 16 years before gracefully stepping into her role as church administrator.
Rev. Jewel brings a special blend of insight into the workings of administration in the local church setting. Her desire as instructor stems from her passion to uplift and inspire others. Rev. Jewel enters the course excited to assist class participants in their own development of the skills and understandings necessary to successfully manage the day-to- day operations of the church.
