About the Course
Pastoral Ethics
Christian Ethics is a vast and detailed course of study that address why we believe what we believe, and where do we get our beliefs from. The study entails biblical scripture, yet because everything that humanity faces does not always have a biblical answer as to how circumstances might be addressed, Christian Ethics looks to discover, and even address difficult issues and questions that people face.
This course asks a specific question, what are Christian Ethics? Are they merely a form of commandments as shared in scripture that we are meant to follow? And if that’s so, what happens with the varied and difficult demands that are pressed upon people by culture, socio-economics, politics, that necessitate answers that are not easily definable through scripture? How does one’s virtue, morals, familial and personal experiences shape our lives, and as a Christian, how do they impact the ministry that God has called us to?
Finally, how has Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life shaped our thoughts and dispositions as it relates to various subjects such as: capital punishment, abortion, LGTBQ, the social Gospel and liberation theology? This course will dig deep into embedded theological thoughts, challenging their validity or building upon their strengths.

As a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my objective is to lead as a servant, and to serve with integrity as I teach the principles and constructs of the Christian faith. Further, my desire is to equip people through the teaching and praxis of spiritual disciplines in order that they might gain an abundant experience in and deeper intimacy with God. As an additional pressing of my soul, I am called to teach and prepare those who have been called into the ordained and or Pastoral Ministry. My passion is to prepare ministerial candidates with as much spiritual knowledge and leadership skills as possible, so that they can live out their calling to the glory of God. To this end, the Ministers In Training Institute has been established.
